Ford Mustang Shelby American
The Shelby Mustang is a high performance variant of the Ford Mustang which was built by Shelby American from 1965 through 1970. Following the introduction of the fifth generation Ford Mustang, the Shelby nameplate was revived in 2007 for new high performance versions of the Mustang.
For 1967, the GT 350 carried over the K-Code high performance 289 with a 'COBRA' aluminum hi-rise. The GT 500 was added to the lineup, equipped with the 428 Police Interceptor. These later cars carried over few of the performance modifications of the 196566 GT350s, although they did feature more cosmetic changes.
In September 1967, production was moved to the A.O. Smith Company of Ionia, Michigan, under Ford control. Shelby American had substantially less involvement after this time.
For 1968, the Cobra name was applied to both models, and they were now marketed as the Shelby Cobra GT 350 and the Shelby Cobra GT 500. In February 1968, the Cobra GT 500-KR "King of the Road" debuted; under the hood was a 428 cubic-inch Cobra Jet V8 which was rated at 335 horsepower (250 kW).
Shelby and Ford returned for the 2007 model year with the Shelby GT500. Introduced at the 2003 New York International Auto Show, the GT500 uses a 5.4 L (330 CID) Modular 500 hp (370 kW) supercharged V8. Features include the Tremec TR-6060 6-speed manual transmission, suspension tuning, a body kit, and 18 inch wheels.

The Saleen S320E Mustang

The 2008 S320E Mustang has been equipped with a 302 cubin inch engine that was specially made by Saleen and has been augmented with a patented Saleen twin screw and intercooler supercharger. With this engine the S320 can produce 620 horsepower and 600 pound-ft of torque.
"We believe that we are in the process of creating a legendary new car. It's thrilling," says Saleen President and CEO, Paul Wilbur. "It seemed to make sense that as we go into our 25th Anniversary as a manufacturer in North America that we make our best and most powerful car yet."
This new model - which has also been given the name "Extreme" - has been built with a number of high quality performance parts that reveal to consumers the race engineering heritage that they are known for. The unique engine that is placed inside the car is a forged crankshaft with forged connecting rods and forged pistons that have been blueprinted individually. It is also built with 5 axis CNC aluminum cylinder heads, high performance camshafts, and high flow fuel injectors.
Each one of the parts work together simultaneously with the Saleen twin screw supercharger. It is connected to a 6 speed manual transmission and Max grip rear differential - which allows it to reach from 0 to 60 mph in less then 4 seconds.
"This place represents a kind of automotive "mecca" for me. We are making limited volume, performance vehicles for people who really love cars, by people who really love cars. I cannot think of a better place to put my 35 years of OEM engineering history to work," says Vice Chairman and Chief Technical Officer Chris Theodore. Chris Theodore is also known as the father of the Ford GT. "Now I am helping build great Saleen cars in the same factory that I architected for the legendary Ford GT."
"This is the best motor that we have ever done," says Powertrain Engineering lead Rob Simons. "We have really benefited from having Chris [Theodore] around. He brings perspective and experience to the company unlike anything that we have known prior."
In order to get the best performance out of the this Saleen Mustang the engineering team used a standard 20 inch, 5 spoke forged aluminum allow wheels that are wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero Rosso tires. But in order to have large amounts of power added to the car you must be able to control it. Otherwise we would be all over the road with it. To have the type of control that we need engineers equipped the Extreme with a Saleen Racecraft suspension and a second generation, brand new Watts Link system that will help the driver stay in control of the vehicle when taking sharp corners.
The chassis system has been rounded by upgraded 4 wheel disc brakes and ABS and traction control. The performance brake system features 15 inch vented, slotted rotors, with 6 piston calipers in the front and 11.8 inch rear vented discs with single piston calipers in the back.

2009 Ford F-150 Truck Goes High-Tech
The media preview of the Chicago Auto Show that a set of high-tech features for its F-Series trucks and E-Series vans including the best-selling F-150. The auto show is open to the public from February 8 to 17.
The high-tech offers of the 2009 Ford F-150 include a broadband-capable in-dash computer, Tool Link tracking system that has embedded radio frequency identification (RFID) capabilities for logging tools and inventory on the truck; and Crew Chief, a telematics and diagnostics system. These features are expected to be available in Fords new vehicles in the fall.
The trucks built-in computer, powered by Microsoft Auto, is located in the middle of the dashboard. It offers a 6.5-inch touch screen, 2GB of memory capable of entertaining expansion, and a USB port.
The Tool Link feature lets users mark their tools with RFID tags. When the tools are not returned to the pickup boxes, the computer flashes a warning on the computer screen.
It helps contractors and tradespeople guarantee they show up at the job site with the right tools for each job - and that they dont leave equipment behind, said William Frykman, the automakers product development manager. Additionally, the computer also tells fleet managers precisely where the truck is. This is an effort to make easier truckers work. The system also features an 8-foot steel cable used to avoid auto theft.
The new F-150 truck offers V-8 engines ranging from a 4.6-liter to a 5.4-liter engine which can run on E85. The truck is also equipped with either a four-speed or a six-speed automatic transmission to bolster performance and handling.
Our truck customers are smart - and they work hard, said Mark Fields, Fords president. Ford Work Solutions provides truck customers new technologies and tools to help them work even smarter and further boost their productivity.
The new vehicles are engineered for business. And there are two companies responsible for that milestone - Garmin International and Sprint Mobile Broadband Network. Internet access is provided via the Sprint and navigation capabilities by Garmin.

2008 Mustang Shelby GT500KR Test Drive

the association between Carroll Shelby and Fords Mustang has been a long and profitable one. Now the 2008 Shelby GT500KR marks the newest flagship in that 40-year run of limited-edition iconic rides, with 1750 units headed to production at a fairly staggering $79,995and thats before dealer premiums. But it will be the most powerful Mustang ever to hit the dealership. We wondered which of the Shelby faithful would subject his $80,000 toy to the rigors of a track day near here on the West Loop of Miller Motorsports Parks impressive facilityand found out that it wasnt likely to be many. Stop by AmericanMuscle.com and check out their large inventory of SLP Loudmouth Exhaust.

Ford Mustang

Despite what it looks like, this is not an Aston Martin V12 Vanquish.
Instead, its a Ford Mustang with one of the best body replica kits Ive ever seen.
Made by Exclusive Motor Cars, the replication process includes stretching the wheelbase, widening the track, lowering the ride height, adding 34 extra body panels to the outside, custom upholstering the inside, and then adding the small details like the lights, emblems and grills to get things just right.
What youre left with after all of that is over is a car that is almost indistinguishable from the real thing. (Except for the price.) They even include a Spy Package that adds on grille-mounted rocket launchers and hood-mounted machine guns for extra fun. (Apparently, Even the original James Bond car from Die Another Day was equipted with Mustang running gear.)
KITT this a Mustang

Its official: The car that will play KITT in the upcoming Knight Rider series is going to be a Shelby Mustang GT500KR, complete with a wing kit, blackout treatment, and the dancing red grill lights.
