Agera means "to take action" in Swedish. It is also short for the ancient Greek word Ageratos which means "ageless". All in all the production version of the Koenigsegg Agera is created to take the Koenigsegg experience to the next level both on the road and the track, still maintaining the largest luggage space in the industry in combination with the unique Koenigsegg door system and detachable/stow-able hardtop. There are several differences between the pre-production car previously shown and the production versions. For example, the engine and gearbox configurations are different and some revolutionary interior, chassis and aerodynamic features adorn the production version of the Agera that has never been shown before.

At the 2011 Geneva Motor show, Koenigsegg presents the Koenigsegg winter package � the first lifestyle packages offered from Koenigsegg. The main element of this package is the exceptional Lightning Roof Box System. The Lightning Roof Box is developed together with the Swedish rack and roof box manufacturer Thule. The high performance lightweight box is made completely from carbon fibre and has been through several iterations of CFD simulation to ensure it is safe up to 300 km/h, making it the fastest roof box in the world.

The supercar 2012 Koenigsegg Sports Cars Agera R is built with a monocoque carbon to provide maximum rigidity and light weight; It is so structurally sound that does not require an annex roof, allowing the roof as a removable Panel which can be stored away. Koenigsegg hasn�t published performance numbers for R Agera yet, but from tires rated at 260 km/h and horse-like body structure and range as the poison Hennessey, its 0-60 mph time to be approximately 2.5 seconds and a top speed around 250 km/h on a double clutch 7.

2012 Koenigsegg Sports Cars Agera R is powered by 5.0L twin-turbo V8 making a neck snapping 1,115-hp and a maximum torque of 885 lb-ft on E85 fuel. Koenigsegg has its own engine lab, with simulation programs, rapid prototyping machines, engine and chassis dynamometers, and a 1.7 km test track adjacent the factory enabling Koenigsegg to take the cars to 0-320-0 km/h at any time. Furthermore, a 25 minute drive away from the Koenigsegg Factory there is Knutstorp Racetrack, which is described by many as a miniature Nordschleife.

Tom Nelson, from Nelson Racing Engines is an integral part of the �dream team� his company is the top �big horsepower� engine builder in the U.S., 2011 Dagger GT Super Sport Cars TranStar Racing has selected Tom�s multi-fuel (petrol/methanol/hydrogen/ethanol), aluminum 572 Twin Turbo as their preferred engine for its combination of streetability and extreme horsepower � 2000 hp on racing fuel.

Expected performance figures are equally astounding: 0-60 mph in 1.5 seconds, quarter mile in less than 6.7 seconds and a top speed of over 483 km/h (300mph). The outer body is made from carbon fibre, while a high-strength 4130 Chromoly Steel chassis forms the inner structure.

From a technical standpoint, the car have under the hood of a General Motors V8 engine in the �big thing� style: 9.4-liters and attention, 2000 HP! Lamborghini Super Trofeo hits the track at Monza with Video

Late last November, Lamborghini announced a new racing series called the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo, is set to commence in May 2009, and described as the world�s fastest one-make series. In February the company revealed it had taken the cars to the race track at Adria for testing, and the results were promising, and now the Super Trofeo has hit the pavement at Monza, complete with video.


The Super Trofeo will come with a reworked chassis, significantly reduced weight of only 1300kg, and power output of 570hp (419kW). The race car will also feature Lamborghini�s permanent AWD system and E-Gear six-speed robotized transmission, which means the Blancpain Super Trofeo will also be the world�s only strictly AWD race series. Other features include a reworked double wishbone suspension system, Pirelli slick racing tires, a specialist racing brake system, a full safety roll cage, a fixed rear wing are made from carbon-fiber, and an ultra-light racing seat.


Set to music but also featuring the soundtrack of the Super Trofeo's 570hp V10 engine, the video shows the car mixing it up with Porsches, Gallardos and more. It's not an extensive run-down or a lap-time-centric exercise, but it does show the one-make racer in (admittedly somewhat mild) action. Much more thorough testing has already been carried out at the test day in Adria.


Over 167mi (270km) of testing laps were logged there, proving the car was well enough sorted to complete more than full race distance. Engineers and drivers were looking forward to doing even more testing, however. �We�ve got lots of data to look at ahead of the May race weekend, and there�s even more to come from the car in terms of performance,� said official test driver Giorgio Sanna. �We�ll be testing at Barcelona next, a very different circuit with very different conditions.�


The Super Trofeo car and parts package is offered at �200,000 plus taxes and entry fees through select Lamborghini dealerships. Blancpain is the name of a Swiss watchmaker that is the title sponsor for the series. For more on the series, the car and the teams that will be racing, check the official site.


The first race of the 2009 calendar is set for Adria in Italy on May 17, followed by Nuremburg�s Norisring in Germany on July 5, Spa in Belgium on August 2, Barcelona�s Circuit de Catalunya in Spain on September 20, and culminating on October 4 in Monza, Italy.


Lamborghini will build cars for a 30-strong grid, available to professional drivers, enthusiasts, and Lamborghini dealer teams. One factory car, reserved for celebrity �guest drivers�, will be included in the line-up at each round.


Competitors in the Swiss watchmaker-sponsored series will race Lamborghini�s new �Super Trofeo� � a lightweight version of the Gallardo LP 560-4 � and events are scheduled for race tracks all over Europe.

Gumball 3000 pass the sunny south California

The Gumball 3000 started its 2008 tour this weekend, and we caught up with the rally in Huntington Beach, CA where the drivers stopped for a brunch and fashion show hosted by Lux5 Events at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort. The group of 120 cars started out in San Francisco on Saturday and will also makes stops in San Diego and Las Vegas. From there the tour jumps continents and heads to North Korea, eventually ending in Beijing to catch a live view of the Olympic games. Enjoy our gallery of high resolution photos below.

But the latest development of the premium refiner HAMANN MOTORSPORT offers far more than a fascinating new aerodynamics concept. The efficiency boost to 630 hp and the HAMANN-sport chassis turn the STALLION into one of the most powerful and fastest sports car in the whole world.The core of the Stallion is its modified engine. The Hamman motor technicians enhance the 3.6 litres Boxer Biturbo motor from standard 480 hp / 353 kW to 630 hp / 463 kW at 6,300 rpm. The upgrade also includes two larger VNT (variable nozzle turbochargers), a sport air strainer, a stainless steel exhaust system with metal catalytic converters and a new motor management.

These are measures which certainly hit their target. The Hamman Stallion accelerates to 100 km/h in only 3.3 seconds and is therefore six tenth of a second faster than its serial counterpart. The new maximum speed tag is sensational. With its efficiency boost and the reduced air resistance by Hamman -Aerodynamics, the Stallion achieves a maximum speed of 359 km/h.

Only the most precious materials can be found in the interior. Stallion The Hamman upholsterers only use selected leather for covering the fittings and sport seats. MCE MC1 Revealed By Car Magazine

A few spy shots of an unknown but impressive car, made everybody to wonder what type and what brand this concept is? Many tried to give their best guesses, they even labeled the car to be the new Lotus Esprit, but they were all wrong.

According to Car Magazine the super car is named MCE MC1 and they actually presented a few great photos of the concept. The car�s body was designed by David Hilton who is also responsible for other cool draws like the Ford Focus RS and S-Max. In this project are involved two companies, MotorCity Europe and C2P Automotive, each with definite responsibilities. While MCE it�s responsible for the design, C2P will develop and manufacture this supercar.
Car Magazine was kind enough to specify some technical details, a V10 engine which produces 600 HP and the chassis should be entirely made of carbon fiber, 20-inch wheels in front and 21-inch wheels in rear. They also said that MC1 will be shorter and narrower than a Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 but 15mm higher.

We hope that they will find enough finances to take the project into production line and we think MCE MC1 will draw everybody�s attention when cruising.

A new super car is born.The Lightning GT,developed by Lightning Car Company, is a 100% electric car. The engine is electric, of course, and generates 700 BHP. The top speed for this super car is more than 200 kmh. For an electric engine this car is very powerfull. The battery system, designed by NanoSafe, is the heart of the power. it�s new, it�s great, and it�s spelled �POWER�. The battery recharges very fast, for at least 250 miles only 10 minutes of recharging would be needed. The Lightning GT has another cool feature. Every time the car brakes or slows down, the kinetic energy is transformed into heat and forwarded to the battery as electricity. It self regenerates. For the bodywork, the UK designers used Carbon fibre,aluminium and Kevlar technology.The interior is a luxury one. It has incorporated Satellite navigation, an Ipod interface and a virtual engine sound. Of course , it has only two seats, so it�s tagged as a sport car. I don�t know � the bodykit is simillar somehow with the Dodge Viper. Especially the front of the car. Anyway, it�s truly a super car. And this time it�s not made by the germans. The british company �wins terrain� in the super car battlefield.Though the engine is powerfull, a small glitch is this : it accelerates rather slow. From 0 to 60 kmh in almost 4 seconds. But we can overpass that. The other features of the engine saves it�s reputation : total weather proofing,several levels of redundancy and a total energy transfer. These make it a super engine. The price for this super car is not yet set, because the Lightning GT will be launched on the market just before the end of 2008. Until then, let�s hope the UK will bring on the market a few more sport cars .

Faster, Lighter Mosler MT900 GTR XX in the Works

We all know the heavier kid doesn�t run quite as fast as the other kids of his age group. Florida, US auto-brute maker Mosler understands this all too well, and has gone bananas in curbing the unwarranted scourge of being overweight with its new MT 900 GTR XX. For it�s so brutal that they should have put an extra X in the moniker, such is the vile nature of its performance.

A carbon fiber body is always a good place to start when attempting these feats. By this action, plus using a titanium exhaust system, lighter passenger seats, a lighter diffuser, Mosler made disappear into thin air some 150kg off the unladen normal supercar. Translated, that�s about the same weight as what you and your daddy together ring up on a bathroom scale. The new 6-speed sequential gearbox also contributed a ten kilogram/ 22 lb saving on weight.

Lightweight with no power is like trying to race feathers. You still need thrust. Where better to look than the 7-litre Corvette V8 motor whose donation of 620 horses and 673Nm in torques will not go unnoticed. Fact is, all this madness adds up to a 0 � 100km/h time of just 3 seconds. We all know what the benchmark in these sort of things achieves, so you can just imagine for yourself. A speed of 200km/h shoots past in 8.7 seconds. This whole car costs �187, 500.

Wait. There�s more! In 2009 a lucky few will be able to ark a bi-turbo conversion in their garages. Where that will end is unknown at this moment, suffice to say the novice rich guy trying to impress other cigars from his golf club will most certainly meet up with a tree somewhere along the way.
