For now heres the thing. In 1980 something called Audi Quattro hit the rally scene. Three years later the series-produced Sport Quattro came to be and featured as the most powerful mass production car in Germany. Using a 2.1-litre engine the car was good for 225kW (306 bhp) and was the star of the Frankfurt Motor Show at its unveiling.

At the 20th Techno Classica in Essen, Germany (from 26 to 30 March 2008) the Audi Sport quattro will be presented as a showpiece. More than that, Audi Tradition will have the Audi Sport quattro Group B rally car, one of five remaining in the world. The cars, based on the shortened Ur-quattro car, were sold for 200,000 German marks each and the remaining are said to be worth close to that even today. How much is a German mark these days again? Special 1:43 scale model car of the year examples will be on sale at the show. These are also limited in number to 333.
